Not compelled to "sound my barbaric yawp": Emperor's Club fails miserably

The Emperor's Club doesn't even qualify as a cheap knock-off of Dead Poet's Society, one of my all time favorite movies. Boring and formulaic, The Emperor's Club steals two parts Dead Poet's Society, one part Mr. Holland's Opus, and reincarnates a few familiar characters from School Ties. Big fat yawn. I didn't have high expectations, but really, Emperor's Club could have gone a little further in the way of character development before plummeting into the "well, cheaters sometimes prosper, but their lives lack meaning" blah, blah, blah.

Fortunately, it's a rainy day and I'm on vacation so sitting around watching bad movies is allowed.
